Hello,

I hope the last month has treated you well and the holiday season is off to a good start for you. Here's my latest news.
The tour for my book, The Camino Way: Lessons in Leadership from a Walk Across Spain (AMACOM, July 2017), went to Cape Town, South Africa this past month for several events. Our stops included a book store (photo above), a wine tasting, and a luncheon (photo above). You can see more photos from the events at the book's Facebook pageSee all the stops on the book tour here.
The South Africa tour included a 5 day group hike on the Cape Camino, a trail near the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. The Cape Camino trail was developed by a mother and daughter team who walked the Camino de Santiago trail in Spain together and wanted to give people in their country a trail like that close to home. I have a mission to introduce people to Camino experiences, so I connected with them. (My next Camino group hike will be in the United Kingdom next spring - details to follow.) You can see more pictures from the South Africa hike on #TheCaminoWayBook page on Facebook or at the book's webpage
I got a wonderful surprise in the mail this month. I sent of copy of my book to Emilio Estevez, the director and star of the film The Way. I included a note in the book that thanked him for the film and said that I was proud to be just one of the 40,000 Americans who were inspired to walk the Camino by his film. He was kind enough to send me a signed copy of a DVD of his film (above) back to me as a thanks.
The Camino Way makes a great gift this holiday season. Instead of buying your loved ones more stuff, why not share an inspirational adventure with them? The book shares dozens of lessons from the Camino that can help people in their everyday lives at home and work. Lessons covered in the book include: "Put Challenges into Perspective," "Welcome Help," "Remove Weapons of Mass Distraction," "Choose Who You Walk With," "Don't Judge People," "Buy the Ticket then Figure Out the Rest," "Less is More," and "Drop the Stone You are Carrying." Learn more by reading the newspaper and magazine reviews, a free sample chapter, and more.
Are you a member of a book club? If you pick The Camino Way as your club's selection one month, you can schedule me to call or Skype into your book club meeting to answer any questions about the book. Learn more and schedule a time on our website.
My blog this month summarizes the lessons I learned by touring the Robben Island World Heritage Site in Cape Town, South Africa. Robben Island is the prison where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years in this cell as a political prisoner before becoming the president of South Africa. See the blog on LinkedIn here
As we roll toward a new year of budgeting, I'd love to hear if the trainings I do could be helpful to your organization. The two 90-second videos above give an overview of my two most popular trainings.
Thanks for your time. I'd love to hear what you are up to. If you have a moment, please reply with an email or look me up on Facebook or LinkedIn.

All the best,
Victor
